NextGen Team
We’re passionate about seeing the next generation follow Jesus and that’s why we want to invest resources into reaching young people in our community with the good news of who Jesus is and how He wants to change their lives.
We can’t wait to see what God has in store for the next generation!
In October 2023, we named Amanda Keith our Director of NextGen Ministries.
As NextGen Director, Amanda has oversight over all our programming for birth-12th grade students. This gives us the opportunity to have more consistency, alignment, shared vision, and direction than ever before in our kids and students ministries.
Amanda’s role includes training and development for all of our KidMin, Preteen, and Student volunteers.
Before we officially named Amanda our NextGen Director, we began piloting the idea in August. Since then, we’ve seen continued growth in our Sunday evenings and student small groups throughout the week.
According to the Barna Group, only 6% of adult Christians made their decision to follow Jesus after age 18.
Our prime window for reaching people with the gospel is under the age of 18 and we don’t want to take anything for granted.
As coordinator, Anna will focus her attention on high school and middle school students.
Anna will be leading on Sunday mornings and evenings as well as spending time in schools and with groups of students through the week.
Anna has a proven track record of teaching students and connecting relationally. She’s invested years of teaching and coaching at Platte County schools. Anna’s had experience with Athletes in Action, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, YoungLife, and worked as the High School Youth Leader at Platte City United Methodist Church. Through the years, Anna has led and participated in a number of international mission trips.
As we consider what it means to reach the next generation, we also want to be training up the next generation of leaders. That’s why our leadership teams have also recommended bringing Alex McClure on as our Student Intern in May of 2024. Alex has shown interest in helping the next generation find and follow Jesus and we want to equip him as he leads.
Alex will be shadowing Ethan for a short period of time, and then take over some of the roles and responsibilities that Ethan has done so well over the last few years. His main focus will be to support our NextGen ministries by helping with events, creating discipleship opportunities, and developing connections with students.
