Do you have a nickname? Or did you have one growing up? Did you know that James had two
nicknames? One of his nicknames was James the Just. He was called this because he was such a
wise leader and righteous man. What was the other nickname you ask? How about “Old Camel
Knees.” Yep, that’s correct, and it was actually a term of affection.
The reason for this second nickname was because James was such an avid man of prayer that
his knees got worn out and looked like the knees of a camel.
As we conclude our series in the book of James, we’ll be discussing two vital ministries that we,
as the local church, are to be engaged in – prayer and bringing back the one that wanders from
the truth (which has been most of us).
