‘Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9
Joshua is one of my favorite players in the story! He’s strong, reliable. He always comes through. He’s one of the good guys. And he’s faithful—to Moses, and to God. And then, when the time comes, Joshua steps up.
I love the way God says, ‘Be Strong and Courageous.’ Multiple times in just a few verses, God promises His presence and strength—so ‘don’t be afraid.’
I memorized Joshua 1:8 when I was just a kid, and I’ve hung onto it all these years.
"This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, meditate on it day and night, be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success." Joshua 1:8
Sunday, we will remember the battle of Jericho, and the Captain of the Host of the Lord. I want to be reminded that it’s “’Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord.” (Zechariah 4:6)
Let’s worship around all that this Sunday. I can’t wait to be with you and open the Word of God together!
I LOVE Being Your Pastor!
