You don’t have to be around most churches too long until you hear the word “faith.” And
though we use this word often, what does it mean to have faith? Or to be more specific, what
does it mean to have saving faith?
Many times when we speak of having faith, we are referring to knowing certain facts about
Jesus – who he is and what he has done for us. We reduce faith down to just knowledge, and if
we can answer correctly then we have real faith.
But in our passage we’ll be looking at this Sunday, James 2:14-26, James gives us a different
answer. While James doesn’t deny that we need to accurately know who Jesus is and what he
has done for us – his life, death and resurrection – real faith is more than just head knowledge.
Hope you can join us Sunday at either 9:30am or 11am, as we look at this passage that will
challenge us – a passage that some even say is the most controversial in the whole Bible!
