“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations. 

Jeremiah 1:5

 

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be in the book of Jeremiah and as the book begins we find that God calls Jeremiah to be a prophet. Now, as we read those words, it can be easy to dismiss them and think they only applied to Jeremiah. I mean after all, you may be saying, “I’m not called to be a prophet like Jeremiah.” And you’d be right. But it would be a mistake to think that God has not given you a specific calling for your life. 

 

Now, you may still be hesitant to believe that, and so this Sunday we are going to look at the call of Jeremiah (and his reluctance) to be a prophet and how his story applies to you and the specific call that God has for your life.
