How has the Bible impacted your life?

I knew about Jesus when I was younger but when I got older, I just gave up. Later, I moved in with my foster parents. They took me to church. When I went to youth group, I didn’t like it at first. There were so many questions I had, so I looked up the answers online. I’m not going to lie, I wasn’t a big believer. I just wanted a place to stay. But eventually I fell in love Jesus and going to church. I started reading my Bible when it was Christmas of 2015 because I got one for a Christmas present.

The Bible helps me become closer to God and to understand his plan for my life. There’s no other book that has had my attention like the Bible. When I need motivation, my one solution is to read my Bible. I have found comfort in the words of Scripture during times of anxiety, depression and stress. I’ve found answers to lingering questions about my faith, and purpose and direction for my life when I’m unsure about what to do. When others try to tell me things about God, I look them up in my Bible. God speaks to us through the Bible.
There are so many verses that mean a lot to me. One is “Peace I leave you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” (John 14:27) Another one is, “But you, God, see the trouble of the afflicted; you consider their grief and take it in hand. The victims commit themselves to you; you are the helper of the fatherless” (Psalm 10:14)
