"In January of 2002, I was sentenced to 10 years in Kansas Department of Corrections for my involvement in the manufacturing of Meth. When I went to prison, I was surrounded by Christians who told me about a program in Lansing Correctional facility called The Brothers in Blue. So I signed up for it. Now, let me be clear. I was not going to learn about Jesus. I was going there because I wanted to be close to my family who lived in Leavenworth. I was going to prove to these "Bible Thumpers" that the Bible was a fraud and Jesus was not real. The more I searched and questioned, the more I began to realize that this God was real and that Jesus had come to die for my sins. The summer of 2005, I went to what is called "Holy Spirit Weekend" and God met me at a crazy time in my life. The more time I spent in His word and learning about Him, the more He began to change what I thought, how I thought, and how I reacted. To come from the world that I do, having seen what I have seen and now to the life that I have with an amazing, loving wife and two beautiful kids and owning a construction company is nothing short of a miracle. Phillipians 1:6 says, 'And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue His work until it is finally finished on the Day when Christ Jesus returns'. When you get to the point that you have nothing left but God, that is the beginning of freedom."
